Problem Solving

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/ap_on_bi_ge/as_japan_earthquake. The link posted is the article about the crisis concerning the Japan earthquake. The result of the tsunami caused a contamination in the water. Company officials reported that radiation in leaking water in all four reactor units in the Fukushima complex. Unit 2 was 100,000 times above normal, a spike that forced employees to flee the unit. This is an extremely big problem in Japan.
There are 6 steps in problem solving. The first step is identify the problem. The problem is the contamination of the water. Second step is analyzing the problem. Japan is finding a way to clean up the complex and the main goal is to keep the reactors cool. Third step is generate several options. Workers have been scrambling to remove the radioactive water from the four units and find a place to safely store it. Safety agency officials had been hoping to pump the water into huge, partly empty tanks inside the reactor that are designed to hold condensed water. Step four is select the best option. Step five is implementing the solution which workers are doing their best to prevent the situation from getting worse.
