Plans for our service learning project are coming right along. While implementing de-stress event for Windsor Residence halls, we hope to raise adoption awareness. As far as communication, we have many different groups and people we are coordinating with. I have noticed that it always helps to have “connections”. In our case it helps that I live in Windsor and Clay’s fiancĂ©’s roommate is the secretary on the Windsor Club board. In addition, the RA that we are working with was my RA last year, which helps with open communication. Ideally, we want to keep everyone informed and on the same page, between group members, Windsor Resident Hall club, Windsor Resident Assistants, Natalie’s Second Chance, and of course our wonderful instructor Jasmine. In order for this to occur, we must use our communication skills to keep everyone on the same page. With the help of the RA’s we have gotten approval for this event. Sam has also done a wonderful job at coordinating with Natalie. We were able to ask the shelter’s needs and meet it with this event-walking and playing with dogs. With multiple emails and phone calls, I believe we have finally reached the point of everyone on the same page. Earlier this week, that could not be said, but we fixed that quickly. Hopefully setting a date and advertising will allow this to be a great event!
