Getting the Word Out

After our group has worked very hard to clarify all related details for our Service Learning Project, the one detail that needs to be addressed is how our group plans to implement an advertising campaign for the event.  Amy has taken the initiative to create a Facebook event that people can RSVP to.  While I don't anticipate that this will get the word out very well, anyone who is friends with our group members will see that our group members are attending, and could get people interested or start getting the word around via word of mouth.

Our best method of advertising will undoubtedly be flyers to post around the resident halls and on some of the billboards around campus.  Since none of our team members are artistically inclined (to my knowledge), we will have to work together to create a couple of drafts then print copies using the print quotas of our group members.

The best advertisement will occur during the event.  Since it will most likely occur outside (weather permitting) students will be constantly passing the event.  Group members will make the event apparent and try to attract students heading back to the residents halls from their classes.  Even if the event is not "talked up" we should be able to attract attention to the event simply by having the puppies around.  They will be making noise, and people will notice the puppies and other students petting and bathing them.  If the event is moved indoors, we will have to compensate by making signs to hold outside of Windsor during the event to attract more students.  Either way, I think that the event will advertise itself when it is being conducted.
